James Wells, original owner and brewer, fine tuned his craft beers for years until forming J Wells Brewery, LLC in 2009. In 2012, the brewery grew again, moving to it's current location at 2516 49th Street, Suite # 5, Boulder, CO 80301. The equipment has grown as have we. The brewery is still considered a nano-brewery with a four (4) barrel brewing system and ten (10) fermentation vessels. Distribution continues to grow throughout the Front Range. The J Wells Brewery was purchased but still has the same great brewers. While Jamie Wells has moved on, the hand crafted small batch beer continues today with the same brew-masters, just under new management. A new and exciting future has brought on excitement and new brews. We will continue to brew your favorites that we are known for and consider our foundation and staple beers. We will be rotating seasonal favorites, introducing test batches, and creating new brews from various regions of the world.  We now have 13 taps and a seasonal cask hand pull. Cheers!
BEERS ON TAP
  1. LISA RED IPA
Citra Hops and German Red Malt give this Red India Pale Ale a malty, yet subtle mango flavor. Bitter with a hint of sweetness, yet finishes smooth. 6% ABV, 118 IBU's
  2. HOP HAZE IMPERIAL INDIA PALE ALE
The ultimate Imperial IPA. Flavors of orange and apricots are achieved through the process of late hopping (aka “Hop Bursting” with an absurd amount of Pacific Northwest Hops ) and a 3-10 day dry hopping process. Served in a snifter (10 oz.). 8.5% ABV, 120 IBU’s
  3. PLEASANT GENTLEMAN INDIA PALE ALE (IPA)
A pleasant and easy IPA brown ale. Sophisticated, hoppy, and aromatic with a depth of a hint of an American Pale Ale, this Pleasant Gentleman will please and sophisticate everyone. 6.7% ABV, 90 IBU’s
  4. COOL OFF RYE KOLSCH
A strong kolsch-style bier (not made in Cologne so technically can't call it a kolsch) with classic noble-like hop additions and rye to provide a spicy yet easy drinking light ale. Made with Rye Malt, Red Wheat Malt, Pilsner, EKG and Hallertau Hersbrucker Hops. 6.1% ABV, 24 IBU's
  5. LIGHTS OUT RUSSIAN IMPERIAL STOUT
A smooth, roasty Russian Imperial Stout with hints of molasses and honey. Aged to perfection in small batches. 9.5% ABV
  6. BRETT PEACH PALE ALE
A unique blend of brettanomyces yeast (Brett) and Palisade Peaches create this blended sour pale ale. Starts strong, finishes light. Now isn't that peachy. 4.1% ABV
  7. CUDDLY MONKEY DISTRACTION ALTBIER
A homage to the "old" days where happy German Brewers used Ale yeast to their hearts delight. This malty yet dry Ale is balanced with a enough bitterness to offset a grain bill that cascades into a lingering toast, bread, & caramel finish. IBU 27 ABV 6.1%
  8. DARK WHEAT
Dunkelweißen style beer with a creamy mouthfeel highlighting clove, caramel, dark chocolate, and a touch of roast. IBU 14 ABV 5%
  9. LEORIC'S BELGIAN GOLDEN STRONG ALE
A classic Belgian Golden strong Ale weighing in at 8.9% abv. Yeast forward with predominate citrus, floral notes, & hints of black pepper ease into a crisp dry finish that masks the high alcohol content. Dance with the skeleton king if you dare! IBU 23 ABV 8.9%
  10. SWAN IS LOOSE HEFEWEIBEN
Bavarian style Hefeweizen with banana esters and hints of clove. This swan does what it wants with a more acidic mash profile rounding out the banana nose to create an easy drinking, slightly more tart finish to a classic German style. IBU 11 ABV 5.1
  11. SCHWARZBIER
A German style dark lager, 5% ABV
  12. IMPERIAL PUMPKIN STOUT FESTBIER
Limited edition festival beer! Small batch, hand crafted Imperial Pumpkin Stout. The name says it all. Cheers!
